Recording a Baptism for Someone Who Isn't a Member Yet

Log a baptism right away without first creating a Member record for the person being baptized.

Recording the baptism

When you record a baptism in Sermfy, the candidate no longer has to already be a registered Member first, you can create the baptism record directly with their basic details, name, date, and the other information the baptism form asks for, and the record stands on its own from that point.

What this changes for your workflow

Previously the only way to log a baptism was to open an existing Member's profile and add the baptism there, which meant guests, visitors, or children who hadn't been through registration yet had no way to get a baptism record at all, now the baptism itself can be the first thing you create for that person.

Best practice

Record the baptism as soon as it happens rather than waiting until the person is formally registered as a Member, capturing the date, minister, and details while they're fresh avoids having to track someone down later to fill in gaps.
