Assigning an Officiating Minister to a Baptism
Assign the minister who performed a baptism by picking them from your church's own list instead of typing a name each time.
Assigning the minister
Every baptism record has a field for the minister who performed it, when you record or edit a baptism, choose the person who officiated from the list your church maintains rather than typing their name in by hand.
Selecting from your church's list
Sermfy keeps a running list of your church's Baptism Officiating Ministers, so instead of retyping a pastor's name on every baptism record, you pick them from that list, which keeps the spelling and identity consistent across every record they've officiated.
A minister has to already be on your church's list before you can assign them to a baptism, if the person who performed the baptism isn't showing up as an option, add them to the list first, then come back and assign them.
Best practice
Add a minister to the list as soon as they start performing baptisms at your church, rather than during the rush of recording the baptism itself, it keeps the assignment step quick and avoids stalling out mid-record.
