Troubleshooting a Membership Card That Won't Generate
The most common reasons a single card fails, and how to fix each one.
Common causes
- Missing or corrupted member photo - the single most common cause of an individual card failing within an otherwise successful bulk batch
- Missing required field data - a template referencing a field (Branch, Date Joined) that's blank on that specific member's record
- Church logo not showing - almost always a logo upload issue at the church level, not the card itself, check your church logo under Settings
What to do
For a failed card in a bulk batch, retry just that member rather than re-running the whole batch, the rest of your batch already succeeded and doesn't need to be regenerated.
If a specific member's card keeps failing, open their profile and check for a missing or unusually large/corrupted photo file first, that's the fastest thing to rule out before assuming a template or system issue.
Best practice
Before a large bulk generation for an event or print run, spot-check a handful of member photos in advance, especially older records that may have been added before photo uploads were consistently required.
