Baptism Certificate vs Membership Card: What's the Difference
Understand why Baptism Certificate and Membership Card are now separate documents and when to generate each one.
Two separate document types
Baptism Certificate and Membership Card are two distinct document types in Sermfy's Documents section, a Membership Card reflects someone's status as a registered Member, while a Baptism Certificate documents a specific baptism event, its date, and who officiated, they serve different purposes even for someone who is both a Member and has been baptized.
Baptism Certificate used to be combined with Membership Card under one shared area, it now has its own dedicated place in the Documents navigation, if you're used to finding it under Membership Card, look for it as its own separate section now.
Choosing the right one
Generate a Membership Card when you need to represent someone's standing as a Member of your church, generate a Baptism Certificate when you need to document that a specific baptism took place, for someone who has done both, they'll have one of each, not a single combined document.
