Requesting and Using a Sender ID

Why you can't register a Sender ID directly, and what the approval process looks like.

Why this isn't self-service

Sender IDs (the name your church's texts appear from, like FAITHWC instead of a phone number) have to be registered with the SMS provider — Sermfy handles that relationship on your behalf so you don't need to deal with provider-side paperwork or technical setup yourself.

The request flow

  1. From Communication → Overview, click Request Sender ID

  2. Sermfy reviews your request

  3. Once approved, Sermfy registers it with the SMS provider

  4. It becomes available to select on any broadcast you send afterward

You'll see one of three statuses while this is in progress: Pending, Approved, or Rejected.

If you don't have one yet

The Overview page will show **"No Sender ID - Request Sender ID" **in place of your active sender ID card. You can still explore the rest of Communication while waiting on approval, but you won't be able to actually send a broadcast until at least one Sender ID is approved.
