Automation Dispatch Log: Tracking What Was Sent
Every automated message is logged, even though no one clicked Send.
Why this log exists
Because automations fire without a person deciding to send anything that day, Sermfy keeps a dispatch log recording exactly what was sent, when, to whom, and for which trigger, Birthday, Attendance Report, Event Registration Confirmation, or Giving Receipt.
What you can check
If a member says they never received an automated birthday message, or you're unsure whether a Giving Receipt actually went out, the dispatch log is the source of truth, rather than guessing based on the toggle simply being on.
Check the dispatch log before assuming an automation is broken, sometimes a message genuinely wasn't sent for a legitimate reason (a missing birth date, a missing email), which the log will make clear.
Best practice
Spot-check the dispatch log occasionally, not just when something seems wrong, it's a good way to confirm automations are behaving as expected before a member ever brings up a concern.
