What triggers this insight
Sera surfaces a card when a member has missed three consecutive services, this is one of the core insight types built into Sera Insights, and it's meant to catch a pattern you might not notice on your own if you're not tracking every member's attendance by hand.
What Sera does and doesn't say
The card states the pattern, a member missed three services in a row, and nothing more, Sera doesn't speculate about why, and it doesn't make a judgment about what that means for the person.
Sera will never phrase this as something like "this member is losing interest," it reports the pattern and leaves the interpretation to your church's leadership, deciding what a pattern means for a specific person is a pastoral call, not a data one.
Best practice
Use the alert as a prompt to reach out personally rather than treating the card itself as the outreach, the Follow Up action button gets you started, but the actual conversation with that member is where the value is.
