Understanding Group Attendance vs Church Service Attendance

Two separate things

A group tracks attendance in two distinct ways, its own Meetings tab, which covers the group's internal gatherings, and a Church Service summary, which shows how the group's members are attending the church's main services, these are never blended into one combined number.

Why they're kept apart

A group's internal meeting could happen on a totally different day or cadence than the church's main services, mixing the two would make it impossible to tell whether someone showed up to the group activity itself or just to a regular service, so Sermfy keeps them as two distinct views.

Reading both together

Looking at both views side by side still gives a fuller picture of a member's engagement, for example a member who attends the group's meetings consistently but rarely attends church services, or the reverse, but that comparison happens by looking at two separate numbers, not one merged figure.

Best practice

When reviewing engagement for a group, check the Meetings tab and the Church Service summary as two separate questions, are they coming to the group, and are they coming to church, rather than expecting a single attendance percentage to answer both.
