Approving a Group Leader Request

What triggers a leader request, where to review it, and what approval actually grants.

What triggers a request

When a member requests to become a group's leader (or is nominated), it creates a pending request rather than immediately granting leader status, someone with the right permission needs to approve it first.

Where to review requests

Pending Group Leader Requests appear in their own screen, review the requester and the group, then approve or decline.

Approving a leader request grants real permissions, including group check-in and, depending on your Follow-Up settings, potential absentee assignments. Confirm the request is legitimate before approving.

After approval

Once approved, the member appears as the group's leader wherever leadership is shown, including as a possible auto-assignment target in Follow-Up if Group Leaders or Both (Smart) mode is enabled.
