Setting Up Funds

Track giving toward a specific purpose, and what happens to history when a fund is closed.

What a Fund is

A Fund lets you track giving toward a specific purpose, Building Fund, Missions, Youth Camp, separately from general tithes and offerings, while still living in the same underlying transaction system.

Creating one

From Finance, then Funds, create a new fund with a name and optional target amount. Once created, it becomes selectable as a destination anywhere a gift is recorded, manual entry or Online Giving.

If you're tracking a Fund toward a specific goal (say, a building target), it's worth pairing with a broader church goal once that feature is available, so leadership can see progress at a glance rather than pulling a report each time.

Closing a fund

Marking a fund as closed hides it from new-gift selection without deleting its history, past gifts recorded against it remain fully intact in reports.
