Recording Tithes and Offerings
How to record a gift, and why Tithes, Offerings, and Funds all share the same underlying system.
Recording a gift
From Finance, choose Tithes or Offerings, select the giving member (or mark it anonymous), enter the amount and fund, and save. Each entry becomes a real transaction in your church's ledger immediately.
Tithes vs. Offerings vs. Funds
These aren't separate underlying systems, they're the same transaction type viewed and filtered differently, a Tithe and a designated Fund gift are both financial transactions, just categorized differently so your reports stay meaningful.
If Giving Receipt automation is turned on, recording a gift here (not just Online Giving) also triggers an automatic receipt, see Automating Giving Receipts.
Correcting a mistake
An incorrectly recorded gift should be edited or voided rather than deleted outright where possible, this keeps your ledger's running totals accurate and auditable.
