Reading Your Attendance Rate on the Dashboard

The exact formula behind your Attendance Rate, and why guests and first-timers are included.

The formula

Sermfy calculates Attendance Rate as:

total attendance ÷ (total active members + guests and first-timers) × 100

This means the rate accounts for everyone who reasonably could have attended, not just your registered membership count, a service with a lot of first-time guests won't unfairly tank the percentage.

Where guests and first-timers come from

This figure is the union of anyone checked in as a visitor during that session and anyone whose very first recorded visit matches that session's date, so a guest isn't double-counted if they happen to appear in both groups.

A low attendance rate with a high raw attendance number usually means your active member count has grown faster than actual attendance, worth checking Follow-Up for absentee trends when you see this pattern.
