What Can and Can't Be Restored in Sermfy

Trash and Restore isn't the same everywhere in Sermfy today, here's exactly where it works.

Where Restore actually works today

  • Forms and Form Submissions - full Trash UI, 30-day self-service restore window, up to 6 months total retention
  • Families - has a Trash, a deleted family can be restored, this only affects the household grouping, not the member records within it

Where deletion is not yet reversible through the interface

  • Members - deleting a member (individually or through Bulk Delete) has no Trash/Restore screen today
  • Groups and Branches - can be deleted, with no self-service restore option available yet

Because Trash coverage isn't consistent across every module, don't assume a delete action anywhere in Sermfy is automatically recoverable. When in doubt, export the data first (see Exporting Members to Excel or PDF) before a large or irreversible-feeling delete.

Best practice

Reserve bulk-delete actions for records you're genuinely confident about, and get in the habit of a quick export beforehand for anything in a module that doesn't yet have Trash support, it costs almost nothing and gives you a real safety net.
