Making Visitor Contact Info Optional at Registration
Register a walk-in visitor on the spot even when you don't have the inviting person's name or contact details handy.
What changed at registration
When registering a visitor, the inviting or referring person's name and contact info are now optional, so you can complete a walk-in's registration without having those details on hand.
Why this helps at the door
Walk-in visitors often don't know, or don't want to share, exactly who invited them, and previously that could hold up getting them registered, now you can get the visitor into the system right away and fill in the inviter's details later if and when you learn them.
Leaving the invitee fields blank doesn't remove the option to fill them in, you can still add that information to the record afterward once you have it.
Best practice
Prioritize getting the visitor's own information captured accurately in the moment, and treat the inviter details as a nice-to-have you can follow up on afterward, don't let a missing referral name slow down welcoming someone new.
