Recording Attendance for Children's Ministry

Explains how children's check-in feeds into the same Attendance History and reports used for members and visitors.

Children get their own check-in

Children's Ministry has its own check-in and attendance recording, separate from how a Member or Visitor checks in, but built to plug into the exact same reporting your church already relies on.

Feeding into the same reports

Once a child is checked in, that record flows straight into the same Attendance History and reports used for member and visitor attendance, there's no separate Children's Ministry attendance report to learn or reconcile against your main numbers.

Main Service is a normal recurring Event

A Children's Ministry class holds its regular "Main Service" the same way any other group holds its meeting, as a normal recurring Event, there's no separate concept behind it, which means anything you already know about setting up a group's recurring event applies here too.

Best practice

Set the class's recurring Main Service event up once when you create the class, rather than creating one-off events week to week, that keeps attendance trending correctly in reports instead of showing gaps between disconnected individual events.
