Why a Commission Was Reversed
Explains what triggers a commission reversal, most often a refund, and where to find the stated reason.
Reversal is the exception path
Most commissions move cleanly from Pending to Eligible to Paid, but a commission can instead become Reversed if something about the payment it was based on didn't hold up, a stated reason always accompanies a reversal so you're not left guessing.
A refund is the typical trigger
The most common reason a commission gets reversed is a refund on the underlying subscription payment, if the church's payment is refunded, the commission that was generated from it is reversed to match, since commissions only ever reflect real, standing payments.
Finding the reason
The Reversed section of the Commissions page shows the stated reason alongside the church, payment amount, and commission amount, so you can see exactly which payment triggered the reversal rather than just seeing the commission disappear from your totals.
A reversed commission doesn't mean the referral itself is invalid, the church is still attributed to you, and any future payments it makes can still generate new commissions independent of the one that was reversed.
Best practice
If you notice a reversal, check whether it lines up with a refund you're already aware of on that church's account, the stated reason on the reversed row should confirm it either way.
