What to Do If a Payout Fails
Explains what a Failed payout status means for your commission balance and the steps to get it resolved.
A failed payout isn't a lost commission
If a payout doesn't complete successfully, it's marked Failed rather than simply disappearing, and it's shown along with a stated reason so you know what went wrong, importantly your underlying commission balance isn't lost when a payout fails, it's the transfer attempt that failed, not the money you've earned.
Common causes worth checking
A failed payout is often tied to something on the receiving end, incorrect or outdated payment details are a frequent culprit, so the reason shown alongside the Failed status is the first place to look before assuming anything more serious has gone wrong.
What to do next
Read the stated failure reason on the Payouts page first, if it points to something you can fix yourself, like outdated payment details, update that information and reach out to Sermfy support to have the payout reattempted rather than assuming you need to submit an entirely new payout request.
Best practice
Keep your payment details current in the Partner Portal before your balance even reaches the payout threshold, most payout failures are avoidable simply by making sure your receiving details are accurate ahead of time.
